Affixes

Affixes are divided into prefixes and suffixes. They produce name of a magic item and decide about its properties, for exmaple Kings Sword of Haste, where "Kings" and "of Haste" are a prefix and sufix respectively, and "Sword" if the name of the item. An item that has prefixes and sufixes in the name is granted additional magic properties. So for example prefis "Kings" gives Change To Hit and extra damage, while sufix "of Haste" granted faster attack speed.

The Helm of Sprits, Shadowhawk, and The Eater of Souls are all treated as items of blood. Does not work against players.

In Hellfire they reduce the AC of the target by a certain percentage shown in the table. It does not work against players. The exact value (in Diablo) is determined at the time of creation of the item and the extra To Hit is never shown on the character screen.
